MAHAK’s BMT Ward Celebrates its 2nd Anniversary

The 2nd anniversary celebration of the MAHAK BMT ward with the presence of the founder, members of the Board of Trustees and Directors, charity and hospital management, medical staff and a number of children who have been successfully treated through BMT procedure was held on May 5, 2014.
This ceremony began with a warm welcome to all by Dr. Mardawig Alebouyeh, a member of the board of trustees. Dr. Azim Mehrvar, head of MAHAK Pediatric Cancer Treatment and Research Center (MPCTRC) then explained the achievements of this ward to the attendees. He stated that MAHAK is the first health center to perform a BMT for an eye tumor and a malignant liver tumor in Iran.
Dr. Amir Abbas Hedayati, the head of the BMT ward spoke at this ceremony as well explaining that since its inception, the ward has performed 64 BMT operations with a total of 4 failures only.
The ceremony concluded with the presence of Aliasghar Salim the benefactor who sponsored the creation of this ward on stage, with all the children who have had BMT operations performed receiving gifts at this ceremony.
