Day to remember Great Saadi

Today, 21st of April, is marked to commemorate Saadi, one of the foremost Persian poets of the medieval period, who is not only famous in Persian-speaking countries, but has also been quoted in and translated into many languages. Recognized as one of the most prominent poets of the classical literary tradition, he is known in the spiritual realm for the depth of his social and moral perspectives.One of his poems, written eight centuries ago, has become a motto of those who care about unity among mankind and interdependence regardless of social barriers and labels; this poem adorns one of the display walls at UN headquarter building in New York:
Human beings are members of a whole,
In creation of one essence and soul.
If one member is afflicted with pain,
Other members uneasy will remain.
If you have no sympathy for human pain,
The name of human you cannot retain.
