On December 27, the day when Kiana was born, MAHAK celebrates ‘Cancer Survivors Day’ under the theme of “Cancer is not the end”. Kiana was diagnosed with cancer 24 years ago. Successfully fighting an arduous battle, she not only survived, she thrives. Thanks to this victory, her mother, Ms. Saideh Ghods became intensely preoccupied with the idea of building a charity-care organization for cancer-stricken children and their families. Very soon thereafter, MAHAK was born, and as they say, the rest is history.
Considering the achievements of this unique organization in providing comprehensive treatment and welfare coverage for every child with cancer, can there possibly be a better day to celebrate triumph over cancer? For MAHAK and close to 8,000 children presently under its comprehensive support across Iran, the hope to survive cancer and the will to thrive after it is defeated will forever be symbolized by the day the original champion of MAHAK was born.
MAHAK congratulates this day of inspiration to all cancer survivors, their families and friends, and the global community dealing with this insidious enemy we all know as cancer.
