Social Work

A childhood cancer diagnosis affects every family in unique ways, yet all families face one common challenge: the stress and emotional strain that accompany the illness. Reducing this burden is one of the most important responsibilities of social workers in cancer care.

MAHAK’s social workers are specialists trained in psychological and social assessment. They provide individual and family counseling, educational support for patients and their families and connect families with social resources that enhance quality of life.

Oncology social workers also act as facilitators between the medical team, the patient and the family. They ensure proper planning for psycho-social services, access to resources, crisis intervention, emotional and financial support, insurance assistance and more.
