“The diagnosis of a child’s cancer affects every family in a unique and special way, but all families who have a child who suffers from cancer have a common point, which is undoubtedly the stress and tension that the patient and their family will face it. Reducing this stress is the most important part of a social worker’s activity in the field of cancer.
MAHAK’s social workers are experts who are active in various psychological and social evaluation programs, including individual and family counseling, interventions in patient and family education, and distribution of social resources to improve quality of life. Oncology social workers play role as facilitators between the treatment team and the patient and their family, providing appropriate planning for psychological and social services, access to social resources, crisis intervention, emotional support, financial support, insurance services, and more.”
