MAHAK’s Presence at the 55th Annual SIOP Congress

MAHAK representatives actively participated in the 55th Annual SIOP Congress held in Ottawa, Canada. The congress, which took place from October 11-14, 2023 brought together experts from various fields. Two MAHAK representatives participated in person while others from the fields of oncology, psychology, imaging, and radiology attended online.
In this congress, Mithra Ghalibafian Head of radiation-oncology department presented a speech entitled “Diffuse Pontine Glioma (DPG): Shorter or Longer Treatment Time?” Moreover, she has a poster presentation during the congress on “To Be or Not to Be Treated: Challenges in Elaborating Low-Grade Glioma (LGG) Adapted Management Guidelines (AMG): The Adapted Resource Implementation Application (ARIA) Working Group”.
It should be mentioned that two poster presentations are available on SIOP virtual platform from Nazanin Khosravi, Head of psychology department and Vahid Shahmaei from imaging ward, respectively on:
1. Given to the findings, it can be said that the designed grief therapy protocol is effective on reducing the symptoms of chronic grief.
2. Non-invasive grading of pediatric brainstem glioma using quantitative susceptibility mapping
MAHAK made a concerted effort to maximize its presence at this prestigious event. The organization consistently strives to actively participate in international gatherings, fostering the exchange of scientific knowledge and information. MAHAK believes that the networking resulted from this gatherings as well as the international updated knowledge will assist medical and supportive team to provide better and more qualified services to children with cancer.
