MAHAK Charity Institute announces the publication of an article on the official website of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), highlighting MAHAK’s experience in using digital innovation to support fundraising, community engagement, and the strengthening of childhood cancer care systems in Iran.

Titled “Digital innovation to fundraise and strengthen cancer care systems for children in Iran,” the article presents MAHAK as a case example of how a civil society organization operating in a resource-constrained setting can adapt digital tools to build sustainable donor relationships, expand community participation, and support comprehensive cancer care for children.

The feature outlines MAHAK’s transition from traditional fundraising methods to a digital model, including the development of the MAHAK Super Application. The platform enables individuals and organizations to create their own fundraising and awareness campaigns, follow the impact of their contributions, and engage more closely with MAHAK’s mission. The article also highlights MAHAK’s broader investment in data systems, digital infrastructure, and internal capacity-building to support a large and diverse donor community.

Through interviews with MAHAK’s leadership, the UICC article reflects on the organizational learning behind this transformation, emphasizing that digital change requires not only new tools, but also a shared institutional mindset supported by senior management and the Board. MAHAK’s experience illustrates how community-driven digital strategies can enhance transparency, participation, and long-term sustainability in humanitarian and healthcare organizations.

Being featured by UICC places MAHAK’s work within a global exchange of knowledge on cancer control, where practical experiences from different contexts contribute to collective learning. The publication underscores the relevance of MAHAK’s approach for other organizations seeking to strengthen cancer care systems through innovation, community engagement, and locally driven solutions.

MAHAK remains committed to sharing its experience internationally, contributing to global dialogue on childhood cancer care, and demonstrating how long-standing, locally rooted initiatives can inform and support progress beyond national borders.
