On the occasion of International Mother Language Day 2026, MAHAK Charity Institute joins the global community in recognizing this year’s theme, “Youth Voices on Multilingual Education.” The theme highlights the vital role of young people in shaping inclusive education systems that value linguistic diversity and ensure meaningful participation for all learners.
In today’s rapidly evolving world—marked by migration, technological advancement, and increasing cultural interconnectedness—multilingualism is increasingly recognized as both a social reality and a powerful educational approach. Yet significant disparities remain, with millions of learners worldwide lacking access to education in a language they fully understand.
For children and adolescents affected by cancer, language plays a critical role in maintaining identity, emotional well-being, and continuity of learning. At MAHAK, educational and psychosocial support services are designed to respect and respond to each child’s linguistic and cultural background, ensuring that communication, care, and learning remain accessible and inclusive.
International Mother Language Day, proclaimed by UNESCO and later adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, underscores the importance of language in promoting inclusion and advancing sustainable development. On this day, MAHAK reaffirms its commitment to fostering environments where every child—regardless of language or background—can learn, be heard, and thrive.
