There is one path towards treating cancer, but every child has a different story. For some children with cancer, that story becomes closely connected to a stem cell transplant—a treatment that may offer them a renewed chance at life.

Stem cell transplantation is used to treat certain cancers, particularly childhood leukaemia and other blood disorders. Before transplantation, the child usually receives intensive chemotherapy and, in some cases, radiotherapy to destroy cancerous cells and prepare the body for healthy stem cells.

Each new volunteer added to the registry increases the possibility of finding a suitable donor for a child in need. On World Blood Stem Cell Donor Day, MAHAK honours donors, medical teams and everyone who helps children continue their treatment journey.

By joining the donor registry, you may help save a child’s life.
