MAHAK Hospital marked World Patient Safety Day 2026 by implementing a series of educational, managerial, and patient-centered activities aimed at strengthening patient safety and promoting safe care throughout the treatment process.

Observed annually on September 17, World Patient Safety Day is a global health initiative focused on preventing avoidable harm in healthcare. The 2026 theme, “Safe Care for Life,” emphasizes safe care for people living with noncommunicable diseases, whose treatment often requires continuous and long-term healthcare services.

In line with this theme, MAHAK organized a Patient Safety Day event in the hospital lobby with the participation of hospital officials, department heads, staff, patients, and their families. Awareness materials featuring the 2026 message were displayed, while patients and staff also received gifts and awards as part of the program.

A patient safety management round was also conducted across all hospital departments with the participation of the hospital’s technical manager, Deputy Director of Treatment, Nursing Director, and Patient Safety Coordinator. MAHAK also recognized nurses and staff actively involved in promoting patient safety.

In addition, the hospital’s governance and management teams reviewed patient safety activities carried out during the first six months of the year and discussed proposals for further improvement. An educational session on safe self-care was also held for patients and their caregivers.

Through these activities, MAHAK reaffirmed its commitment to patient safety and the continuous improvement of care provided to children with cancer and their families.
